Beni Ourain Rug SOLD

$3,000.00 inc.gst

Handwoven by the women of the Beni Ourain tribes in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco. Beni Ourain rugs were traditionally woven to keep warm during the bitterly cold winter months. Using only the the superior wool from sheep in this region, Beni Ourain rugs feature a luxurious, thick pile making them incredibly soft underfoot. The traditional motifs are black or brown lines in abstract patterns, but weavers draw from their personal experiences, as well as significant life events such as birth, fertility, nature, and religious beliefs. We love beni ourains for the simple, yet elegant touch they add to the modern home. These are the kinds of rugs you keep for a lifetime.- abstract diamond berber motifs weaved throughout
